You might be wondering how I got here…

Here’s a brief summary of my journey so far.

The Early Performance Days

It all began when I was 14. A performance in a restaurant led to a residency. This opened the door to gigs at weddings, dinners and parties. Soon, I was performing at festivals and corporate events. One of my personal highlights was becoming the Official Top Trumps Magician - yes, I even became an actual Top Trumps card!

Growing An Audience Online

Around that time, I also started a YouTube channel for fun. To my surprise, it attracted a loyal following, connecting me with thousands of magicians worldwide and helping me to establish a voice in the industry.

A Dream Job In Theatre

After six years of gigs, I was ready for a change. As luck would have it, I landed a dream job with Derren Brown. For five years, I toured the UK with his theatre shows, helping to stage over 700 performances. This was an extraordinary experience that deepened my knowledge of how to create and perform meaningful magic.

Creating Tricks And Opportunities

Beyond performing, I love to create. I’ve created hundreds of original effects, leading to collaborations with top magic companies such as Ellusionist and Vanishing Inc. Creating my own effects has also led to global lecture tours, where I’ve been able to teach magicians worldwide - Australia, Italy, Iceland and Japan to name a few.

My Teaching Career

For the past seven years, I’ve supported myself by building online tutorial libraries. My notable projects include Mealing’s Membership (the first of its kind), The Fiver Friday Series as well as The Mealing Collection. These projects have attracted thousands of members, allowing me to grow a sustainable career teaching others.

What’s Next For 2025

My next project, Weekly Wonders, launches in January - a weekly series designed to inspire and empower magicians with material drawn from my 20+ years in card magic. I also offer 1-1 consultancy calls, helping magicians to create new tricks, methods and presentations or to help them improve their existing material.

To Wrap This Up

In over two decades - performing, creating, touring, teaching - my love for card magic has only grown stronger. I’m endlessly grateful for the amazing opportunities, the lucky breaks and the incredible people I’ve met along the way. It’s truly mind-blowing how something as small as a pack of cards has led to such a BIG adventure!
